Open letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper:
Dear Prime Minister,
Your decision to subvert the will of our elected representatives with regards to an issue that will affect all of us and any descendants we may have — particularly in an area subject to positive feedback/tipping points as clearly and unequivocally supported by the over 50,000 members of the world Geophysical Union of scientists — is clearly un-democratic, hypocritical and insane.
The 50,000 scientists do not all have a vested material self-interest as predicted by your fundamentalist free-market religion; unlike the paid industry-sponsored lobby groups given equal weight by an unprofessional media.
The free market cannot stop permafrost melt releasing more methane, sea-level rise nor global crop failures.
Please demonstrate real leadership and re-start the process.
