Those people tossing the Frisbee at Lakeside are part of the Nelson Ultimate League.

The league runs Sundays and Thursday at Lakeside and is open to anyone interested in a good run and a lot of fun.

Ultimate is a non-contact sport played with a 175 gram flying disc.

The objective of the game is to score points by passing the disc to a player in the opposing end zone, similar to an end zone in American football or rugby.

Players may not run with the disc, and may only move one foot while holding the disc (pivoting).

The league runs Sunday afternoon (3:30 p.m.) and Thursday evening (6:30 p.m.) at the Lakeside Pitch. New players are welcome.
