Nelson man alleges assault by police officer

Nelson Police is not saying much after a seven-second video appeared on a local Facebook site of a man with bruising to his face.
Ron Bendle of Nelson uploaded the video, adding the post, “This is what sergeant Holt did to me For no reason!”
In a media release Tuesday, Nelson Police confirmed the allegations being made by Mr. Ron Bendle and are related to an incident that occurred on June 10, 2021.
“There are currently allegations under investigation against Nelson Police Department Sergeant Nate Holt, posted on a Facebook page,” Nelson Police said.
“There is an ongoing investigation,” Nelson Police added.
Nelson Police said the department cannot comment further on this matter until the investigation is complete.
The investigation is being conducted by the Vancouver Police Department.
