Salmo man dies in car accident

Salmo RCMP and West Kootenay Traffic Services said an 83-year-old man died Friday morning in a car accident three kilometers west of Salmo on Highway 3A.
Police said the driver from Salmo and lost control of his vehicle and went into the oncoming lane striking an oncoming vehicle.
The male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A lone female occupant of the east bound vehicle, a 50-year-old Salmo resident, was transported to Trail with minor injures.
The roads at the time were slippery.
The roads in our area are starting to become slippery, especially in the mornings and late afternoon.

RCMP said this fatal crash investigation is continuing.
