Violet Kosiancic
April 22, 1928 – July 16, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Violet Kosiancic on July 16, 2018.
Violet was born in Nelson B.C on April 22, 1928 to Leicester and Elsie Longden and was raised in the family home on Latimer Street. She got her education in Central school and the old High School on Latimer Street. She worked for a short time in the old Nelson Hospital. She met Lawrence Kosiancic and they were married on October 25, 1958; they spent over 59 years of happy married life together.
She is survived by her Husband Lawrence and three children – daughter Carol Castle, Roy Wistanley, and daughter Ella (Bill) Dear, her Brother Bert (Leona) Longden, brothers-in-law Ray Kosiancic and Jake Kosiancic, sister-in-law Shirley Kosiancic, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and three brothers Leicester Longden, Albert Longden, George Longden, one sister Lilly Longden who died at a young age, and one brother-in-law Tom Kosiancic.
The family wants to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Caregivers from Interior Health, Nelson Hospital, Talarico Place and Jubilee Manor for the wonderful never ending care that she received the past year.
There will be a celebration of life held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM September 1st at 1223 Cherry Street Nelson, BC.
