Phyllis Dale, a beloved resident of Nelson, BC, passed away peacefully on May 16th, 2023, at the age of 90. Phyllis lived a remarkable life, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Born in England, she emigrated to Canada as a young woman of 21 and settled in Calgary, where she raised her family.

Phyllis was a devoted mother to her two daughters and two sons, and her love and guidance shaped their lives. She found joy in being a part of her children’s lives and enjoyed her 9 grandchildren and 5 great grand-children.

Throughout her life, Phyllis had a passion for various activities that allowed her to connect with nature and foster her spiritual side. She was an avid tennis fan and hiker who enjoyed the great outdoors as well as the small things like feeding the many birds who visited every day. 

Phyllis was a lifelong learner who always had at least one book on the go and spent many years involved in the Learning in Retirement community. She enjoyed new experiences and loved to travel. Her curiosity and intellectual pursuits enriched her life and inspired those who knew her. She made many enduring friendships throughout the Nelson community, believing we are all spiritual beings helping one another along the path.

In honouring Phyllis’s memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to any nature or environmental cause of your choice. Phyllis had a deep appreciation for the natural world and its preservation, and supporting these causes would be a meaningful tribute to her legacy.

As we bid farewell to Phyllis Dale, let us remember her as a vibrant soul who embraced life’s wonders, fostered love and friendship, and left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Her spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
