It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gabriella Rose Theresa. Our endeared Mother, Granny, Beez Noni and Zia left us peacefully on March 21, 2019.
Gabriella will be deeply missed by loving daughter Mary (Ken), dear grandchildren Garrett, Lisa Maria and Jolene (Danny), precious great-grandson Nate, cherished niece Anna; nieces and nephews. Gabriella has relatives and friends in Nelson, Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Minneapolis, Italy, and Norway.
Gabriella was born to parents Mario and Maria Ghislieri, on September 24, 1922 in Sale Alessandria, Italy. The Ghislieri family immigrated to Canada when Gabriella was at a very young age.
Gabriella met Olaf Brekka in Harrison Hot Springs, BC and they lived in Vancouver, BC for several years. They were married for almost 50 years and spent their retirement in Nelson, BC. Faith was their foundation and they were involved in many church activities.
Gabriella was predeceased by her beloved husband Olaf, brothers Fred and Herman, nephew Mario, and parents Mario and Maria.
A private service will be held later this spring, in Nelson. A Celebration of Life will take place in Vancouver, this summer.
