Wildcats play host to second stop on cross country running tour

Mount Sentinel High School in South Slocan is the next stop on the West Kootenay High School Cross Country schedule.

The race, set for Wednesday at 4 p.m., is expected to draw competitors from throughout the West Kootenay region, including teams from Salmo, L.V. Rogers in Nelson, Kaslo’s J.V. Humphries and the host Wildcats.

The season opened last week in Kaslo. Following Wednesday’s race, the tour shifts to LVR next week and New Denver October 13th.

The West Kootenay Championships are slated for Salmo October 20th with the Kootenay Finals set for the Busk Cross Country Ski Trails near Apex.

The top runners from the Kootenay Championships qualify for the B.C. High School Cross Country Championships November 6th at Oak Bay Secondary in Victoria.
