Traffic stop results in seizure of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine
Two people have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance following a traffic stop on Lakeside Drive Nelson Police said Wednesday in a media release.
Police said the arrests resulted following a report of suspicious activity in the area of 90 Lakeside Drive on CP Rail Property Monday (October 8) at approximately 9:21 p.m.
When police arrived, the officer located a male and female associated to a minivan parked nearby that location.
“A traffic stop was conducted by the officer and both parties were identified,” the media release said. “As a result of an investigation conducted at the scene both parties were arrested, a subsequent vehicle search yielded a significant amount of suspected Fentanyl and Methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $16,000.”
Police said a significant amount of cash was also seized during the search.
Both parties are previously known to police and are scheduled to appear in court January 8, 2019.
