The teenager accused of making threats last Friday at Mount Sentinel High School in South Slocan made an appearance Wednesday in BC Provincial Court in Nelson.

Denver Skey, 18, was in court to hear charges of two counts of uttering threats.

The threats resulted in administration locking down the high school as well as sending students home from the Brent Kennedy Elementary School.

The incident also forced cancellation of Grad Ceremonies at Mount Sentinel Friday, which is located 20 kilometers west of Nelson on Highway 3A.

Skey was denied bail and remains in custody.

After cancelling classes at Mount Sentinel Monday and Tuesday, administration allowed students back in school Wednesday for the final day of class.

RCMP, in a media release, said they were alerted of a possible threat at Mount Sentinel High School (Friday) June 23 at 2:30 p.m..

When officers arrived on scene, school officials had detained one of the students. The student was then taken into police custody without incident.
