Team BC rocks the Canada Games

Team BC finished third at the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax, bringing home 28 gold, 30 silver and 30 bronze medals, in their best winter games standings ever.
The next Canada Winter Games will take place in Prince George in 2015. Held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, the Canada Games are a key event in the development of Canada’s young athletes, producing the next generation of national, international, Olympic and Paralympic champions.
Quick Facts:
• More than 350 British Columbians make up Team BC, including 242 athletes, 74 coaches and support staff, three national artists and 22 mission staff.
• B.C. has roughly 13 per cent of the Canadian population, yet Team BC won more than 17 per cent of the medals at the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax.
