Connor McIntosh scored with just over three minutes remaining in the game to lift Spokane to a 6-4 victory over Nelson in West Kootenay Minor Hockey Peewee Rep League action Saturday afternoon in the NDCC Arena.

The goal by McIntosh snapped a 4-4 tie and gave the American visitors a tougher-than-expected victory.

Trailing 2-1 after one frame, Nelson struck for three second-period goals to pull even at 4-4 after 40 minutes.

Aigne McGeady-Bruce, Taylor Cooper and Logan Mengler each scored in the second frame, with Mengler’s marker coming in the final minutes, to even the score.

However, in the third McIntosh broke through to beat Curt Doyle in the Nelson nets. Netminder Joey Timmermans started the game for Nelson.

Desmond Parisotti scored twice to lead Spokane.

The Nelson Peewee Reps travel to Trail Friday to compete in the annual Silver City Peewee Rep Tournament.

First game is Friday at 3 p.m.
