No Tom Cruise and no Alec Baldwin and no Julianne Hough.

Instead, it’s Pat Beauchamp, Jeff Frost and Anna Backus capturing center stage as Black Productions brings Rock of Ages to the Capitol Theatre in Nelson for a host of shows this weekend.

Rock of Ages tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams.

Their rock ‘n’ roll romance is told through the heart-pounding hits of Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Whitesnake, and more.

Rock of Ages is directed by Lisel Forst (Chicago, Into the Woods) with musical direction by Rick Lingard (Cabaret, Kootenay Music Academy) and choreography by Mackenzie Hope (Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar).

Rock of Ages takes you back to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! This hilarious, feel-good love story celebrates the great rock songs of the ‘80s.

Rock of Ages opened Thursday with evening shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday and matinee’s Saturday and Sunday.

For tickets go to the Capitol Theatre website.
