RCMP warn counterfeit dollars being peddled in Princeton

Princeton RCMP are warning local merchants about a younger couple and older couple who have been purchasing or attempting to purchase items from at least 9 stores in Princeton with counterfeit American $20 and $50 bills.

In a recent media release, RCMP said the group tore through town on Wednesday (December 5,v 2018) and maybe headed west towards the Lower Mainland.

“The suspects buy small items with American bills to receive Canadian change or paying for big ticket items with American bills and returning the items for Canadian currency,” RCMP said.

The counterfeit bills have had serial numbers ending in 0875B, 0149E, 0150E & 0148E.

The suspects are described as:

  • Young female suspect description: 20-30 years old, 5’0 to 5’5, long dark brown hair, wearing a black and white scarf, black top, green camouflage jacket, black and white toque with snowflake pattern, tall black winter boots, black and white leggings.
  • Older male suspect description: 50-60 years old, 5’10, grey/white hair & goatee, wearing a black Under Armour baseball caps, blue jean jacket with fuzzy collar, black Carhardt work pants, black hoodie or black sweatshirt with Toronto Raptors logo, black boots/shoes.
  •  Vehicle description: Ford Windstar or Freestar van, aqua or green/blue.

Young female suspect description: 20-30 years old, 5’0 to 5’5, long dark brown hair, wearing a black and white scarf, black top, green camouflage jacket, black and white toque with snowflake pattern, tall black winter boots, black and white leggings.
