Speed is believed to be the cause of a semi-trailer and tractor ending up in the Moyie River on Highway 3 at Yahk Thursday (March 8) said Creston RCMP.

RCMP responded to the call of the accident at 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

When officers arrived they found a semi-trailer and tractor sitting in the Moyie River.

Police believe the driver, who was able to escape from the tractor cab, was traveling too fast for road conditions.

The contents of the trailer were removed before a wrecker could pull the trailer and cab from the river.

No injuries were reported.
