No cool million, but Barry Epp and two friends will be able to drive home from Buffalo, NY, in the all-new Chevrolet Cruze as part of the fifth annual Chevrolet Cruze Million Dollar Shootout.

The Cranbrook sales consultant had the opportunity to shoot for a Million dollars during the Canada/Sweden IIHF World Junior Hockey contest Friday.

Epp and his two shooters – son Shane and friend Chris Kirwan – each had 15 seconds to shoot 10 pucks into an open net from centre ice.  The two Epp’s combined 10 goals scored were enough for the three East Kootenay hockey fans to each claim an all-new Chevrolet Cruze sedan.

Already a winner, the senior Epp had a chance to shoot for a cool $1 Million. Epp needed to score 15 or more goals into the net from the far blueline in 24 seconds or less.

Epp fell six goals short of winning, scoring nine into the open net before time ran out.

In 2008 Epp was in attendance at General Motors Place in Vancouver when Darwin Head of Prince Albert, SK, won it all during the Chevrolet Malibu Million Dollar Shootout in 2008, netting four Chevrolet Malibus and $1 million live on TSN.

The day prior to Friday’s contest the Cranbrook trio received a special one-hour private practice session with Hall of Fame defenceman and Chevrolet Hockey Ambassador Bobby Orr at HSBC Arena in Buffalo.

Epp was randomly chosen from nearly 7.2 million total online entries.
