Boundary Country Regional Chamber of Commerce (BCRCC) held its first networking last Thursday night giving attendees their first look at the organization and membership benefits.
Cathy Martinoff, president of BCRCC, opened the seminar with an introduction to the board of directors which includes: Wendy Darbyshire, Dave Evdokimoff, Darla Ashton, Tammy Battersby, Dave Marshal, Mark Grimm, and Pru Zerny. Martinoff also thanked the sponsors that aided in the development of the organization.
Following the formalities, BCRCC Executive Director Sarah Winton presented a slideshow on the basics of navigating the new website. Some neat options for the region include the business directory, events calendar and advertising opportunities.
Also on hand was BCRCC Membership Development Coordinator Tracy Jacques. A marketing and social media specialist from Vancouver, the BCRCC will be relying on Jacques to recruit as many businesses into their portfolio as possible.
“I’m looking forward to talking with all the local business owners and showing how inclusion into the BCRCC can be beneficial,” Jacques indicated. “From a large employer to a person with a farmer’s market booth, we have tools to help them succeed.”

For individuals who couldn’t attend the networking event held on Jun. 16 at the Midway Community Hall, more are in the works. Grand Forks is likely the next location to host, but time and place are still undetermined. Once the event is set, it should appear on the new BCRCC website:
