The Cranbrook Bucks, the latest addition to the BC Junior Hockey League family, recently announced the addition of a Nelson Minor Hockey Association graduate to the roster.

The Bucks announced that Nelson native Noah Quinn has committed to the team for the 2020-2021 season.

“Noah is a tremendous addition for our program at this time and is a young man with an enormous amount of potential,” said Head Coach and General Manager Ryan Donald on the Bucks’ website.

“He led his team in goals, assists and points last season as a 16-year-old, and is a player that we believe will be able to produce offense at the BCHL level.”

Quinn played last season for Kootenay of the BC Major Midget Hockey League, tallying 21 goals and 21 assists for 42 points in 40 games.

The 16-year-old from Nelson also was selected January player of the month honors in the BCMML.

“(Noah)will be expected to contribute in all areas of the game for us at a young age, and we look forward to helping him achieve his goals as a hockey player,” Donald added.

“Being a product of the Kootenay Midget program is an added bonus, as we know he will find Cranbrook a great place to call home.”

The Cranbrook Bucks wish to welcome Noah to the organization and the City of Cranbrook.

In October 2019, the Cranbrook Bucks became the league’s 18th team in the BCHL.

The Bucks will begin play in the 2020-21 season, playing out of Western Financial Place in Cranbrook. The Western Financial Place is the former home of the Western Hockey League Kootenay Ice.

Earlier in 2019, the Ice announced the team was moving to Winnipeg. Ice owners had purchased the team from Edmonton’s Chynoweth family prior to the 2017-18 season.

The Chynoweth family had relocated the team to Cranbrook from Edmonton, AB in 1998.
