The whirlwind season for Dyden Hunt continues.

The Nelson Minor Hockey grad was traded Monday from the Colorado Avalanche to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Leafs acquired the Avs winger in exchange for forward Denis Malgin, 12 hours before the NHL’s holiday roster freeze.

Hunt moves on to his third team this season, after starting the year with the New York Rangers. Hunt was claimed by the Avs on Oct. 20.

The 6’3”, 193-pound Hunt brings a bit more size to the Leafs’ lineup, a physical element as well as a left shot.

Hunt was scoring machine in junior hockey, posting 58 goals and 116 points during his overage season with the WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors.

However, that scoring success has yet to translate to the NHL level.

In 28 games between the Avalanche and Rangers this season, Hunt has collected two goals and 15 penalty minutes.

He has skated in five career NHL playoff games.

Hunt was originally signed by the Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
