Nelson Minor Hockey grad Adam DiBella earned a trip to the B.C. Hockey League during the weekend, helping the Salmon Arm Silverback edge the Centennials 5-4 in double overtime Saturday in Merritt.

David Killip scored 40 seconds in the second extra frame to give the Interior Conference leaders the narrow victory. Against the Centennials, DiBella recorded no points but had two minutes in penalties.

DiBella, a 6’1”, 200-pound defenceman, is currently patrolling the blueline for the Revelstoke Grizzlies of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

The 17-year-old DiBella is in his first season in the Junior B League.

DiBella is expected to remain with the Silverbacks as the Interior Division leader makes a four-game road swing into the Coastal Conference.

Salmon Arm plays Nanaimo Wednesday, Cowichan Valley Friday and Alberni Valley Saturday before concluding the trip Sunday in Victoria.

In eight games this season with the Grizzlies, DiBella has one assist to go with 29 minutes of penalties.

Revelstoke, the defending league champ, leads the Shuswap Division of the KIJHL with a 10-1 record.
