Nelson Boxing Club hosts Fight Night V Charity Championship

Following an impressive showing by local fighters at the Canadian Championships in Edmonton, the Nelson Boxing Club is hosting Fight Night V Charity Championship May 12 at the Rod and Gun Club.
Fight Night V features Adam Sutherland up against Shawn Gauthier in the main event.
The Sutherland-Gauthier bout is a charity match with proceeds going to the Nelson and District Women’s Centre.
Anyone wanting to support the two fighters can click on the GoFundMe page to donate.
Also featured on the Fight Night V card are Samson Berkeley and Elias Martinez, who each returned home with bronze medals from Edmonton.
The 15-year-old Berkeley dropped a tough decision to Jordan Cadran of Quebec in the 63-kilogram light-welterweight bout.
As for Martinez, he was defeated by Janick Lacroix of the host province in the 70-kilogram light middle-weight division.
Tickets for Fight Night V Charity are available at the Nelson Boxing Club (685 Baker Street) and at the Capitol Theatre Box Office.
