NDCU prepares for virtual 71st Annual General Meeting

The Nelson & District Credit Union said in a media release that assets for the locally based financial institution increase by 12 per cent over the past year.

The news comes at the NDCU prepares for its 71st Annual General Meeting, planned as a virtual online event for later this month.

The NDCU said the past year’s high points were growth in assets, members’ deposits and comprehensive income, while also distributing $100,000 to community organizations within its service area.

Highlights: 

  • Assets increased by 12 per cent to $ 314.6 million 
  • Members’ deposits increased by 12.4 per cent to $293.1 million 
  • Community Investment since 2000 exceeds $3.86 million

The NDCU said investing in a Credit Union promotes vitality.

“Every dollar that remains in our community has a multiplier effect,” NDCU said

“When members borrow and invest with us, we can continue to actively help the local economy by cycling money back into the community through mortgages, loans and community giving.”

“(NDCU) pledge, “Here to Help” ensures a vibrant and resilient community-based financial institution is part of the fabric of each community we serve.”

The NDCU said the Board of Directors continues to assure customers that the health and safety of the membership and employees is a top priority to continue to serve the community.

The decision has been made to host the 71st Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 7 p.m., utilizing the online meeting service, Zoom.

The Credit Union will host its virtual Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 7 pm using a virtual AGM platform.

Members are encouraged to attend as the AGM is a chance to ask questions and hear about their Credit Union’s activities and accomplishments from the past year.

The NDCU, established in 1950, now has branches in Nelson, Rossland and the East Shore of Kootenay Lake.

The NDCU is a community based financial co-operative that offers financial planning (NDCU Money Works) and general insurance through Kootenay Insurance LTtd (KIS) Services.
