Nakusp woman arrested after police search residence

A local woman was arrested following a search of property in Nakusp Monday (June 17, 2019) RCMP said in a media release.

Nakusp RCMP executed a search warrant at a property on 13th Avenue NW in Nakusp to find an assortment of substances which fall under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act.

“Suspected, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Methamphetemine, Hash, Fentanyl and Marijuana were seized in amounts indicative of trafficking,” RCMP said.

“A few firearms were seized which were unsafely stored and the resident did not possess a firearms license.”

RCMP also recovered in the search thousands of dollars in stolen property, including a vehicle, an ATV, a dirtbike and other property.

RCMP said a 36-year-old Nakusp woman was arrested at the location and later released on a promise to appear in Nakusp Court on October 30, 2019.

RCMP said the investigation is ongoing.
