The L.V. Rogers Bombers outlasted Aldergrove 19-15 to capture the bronze medal at the BC High School Girls Rugby Championships held earlier this month in the Fraser Valley.

The win was amazing considering the Bombers had only five players returning to the program after two seasons of no action due to COVID-19.

The Bomber coaching staff was extremely proud of this year’s rugby athletes — both girls and boys — as the players positively represented L.V. Rogers and the Nelson community both on and off the pitch.

The coaching staff said the commitment, sportsmanship and passion for the game was recognized by every team the Bombers competed against and the program is excited to build on the success heading into the next 2022-2023 school year.

Mallard’s Source for sports would like to salute the Bombers as Team of the Week.
