The Hume Innkeepers recently won the Mallard’s Men’s Open League.
In the process the Innkeepers announced that Callum Cutler is the winner of the Kerry Dyck Memorial Scholarship.
The award, in honour of the late head coach and manager who lost a battle with cancer in 2018, is given to a youth player within the men’s league based on playing ability, attitude and contribution to soccer in Nelson.
Cutler was selected because of his High level of skill, strong work ethic and multiple areas of involvement in the soccer association. Cutler refs and coaches as well as plays for the U17 select team. He played last indoor season with the Hume Innkeepers.
Cutler is heading to Madrid, Spain as a selected member for Generation Adidas to train with the Real Madrid Foundation.
Captain Kevin Lewis said the team would like to thank all of the team members and Ryan Martin of the Hume Hotel for their contributions to the scholarship.
