Anyone who has ever played or watched a game of chess, may know that what you’re seeing transpire on the board may actually belie the final intention.
This sentiment could be applied to competitive chess player, internationally trained physician and math scholar Patricia Smuga.
Smuga, who moved to the Nelson are a few years ago, just last year championed a premier publication for West Kootenay Women, a magazine called Freya.
