For the fourth straight game the L.V. Rogers Bombers took it on the chin.

Jamie Adams poured in a game-high 18 points to lead the Selkirk Rangers to a convincing 74-39 victory over the Bombers in High School Senior Girl’s Exhibition Basketball action Tuesday in Metaline, Washington.

The Rangers, 8-2 on the season in the State B league, put the game away early, outscoring LVR 23-9 in the opening period.

“The Americans play a very intense defensive game and that’s what did us in . . . their tenacious defence,” said coach Bruce Fuhr, adding the Rangers match-up zone defence frustrated the Bombers throughout the contest.

“(However) I still saw some good things from our players — like the play of Kyndle (Doolan) and Jess (Carmichael) that will help us as the season progresses,” Fuhr added.

The Bombers lost three consecutive games prior to the Christmas break during a tournament in Cranbrook.

Co-captains Courtney Holter and Anne Marie Cain each scored 10 points while Haley Adams added 12.

Senior guards Sarah Fuhr and Kyndle Doolan led the Bombers with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Jessica Carmichael had a good game for LVR coming off the bench to score four points.

LVR was missing senior center Rachael Moulson, who did not make the trip south the boarder due to sickness.

The Bombers, playing at the AA level, returns to action Friday in Vernon at the Fulton Maroons Tournament. First game is against Rutland Voodoos.

Next home game for LVR is Tuesday at the Hangar when the Bombers host the Mount Baker Wild of Cranbrook.
