Liberals nominate Robin Goldsbury in Kootenay Columbia

Add another name to the ballot in the riding of Kootenay Columbia for the upcoming Federal Elections after Robin Goldsbury was selected to run under the Liberal banner.
Goldsbury, a resident of Balfour, was recently announced as the Liberal Candidate Federal Party.
“We need determination and passion to keep our small community vitality on the Federal radar,” Goldsbury said in the Liberal Party media release.
Raised in Alberta, Goldsbury married a Kootenay lad and moved to the Cranbrook area 30 years ago.
Her background managing corporate marketing came in handy when she ran Adeas, an in-house ad agency at Koocanusa Publications. The agency designed successful marketing campaigns for many Kootenay businesses.
From what started as a bet she couldn’t sell “kindling” Robin built a thriving value-added forestry business that sold forest botanicals to the floral trade worldwide.
Her Kootenay Cone Company was the first licensed botanical collector in British Columbia, and at peak employed 45 people. She developed many sustainable harvesting techniques in use today.
Concurrently, Robin and her partner purchased a Cranbrook motel. After 10 years in forestry Robin returned to school and completed a master’s degree in neuroscience.
Goldsbury landed on Kootenay Lake in 2007 where she and her partner built the iconic Dock n Duck Resort at the Balfour Ferry Landing approximately 30 kilometers north of Nelson.
In 2014 Robin was recognized as a Top 10 Kootenay Business Operator.
Goldsbury found her home in the Liberal Party of Canada where she’s actively formed policy with the national women’s commission and pushed for the new Ministry of Rural Economic Development. Goldsbury is also working on extended healthcare policies.
“Rural is relevant! We are relevant! Together we have the creative, collaborative and workable solutions for sustainable rural vitality,” Goldsbury said.
“What’s needed is the enthusiasm and the smarts to grab the government’s attention and get the work done.”
Goldsbury joins Abra Brynne of the Green Party, Rick Stewart for the People’s Party of Canada and Rob Morrison of the Conservative Party in the race to knock off incumbent Wayne Stetski of the NDP in the upcoming Federal Election, set for on or before October 21, 2019.
While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has yet to drop the writ for the upcoming Federal Election, the parties have agreed on the debates.
The English debate is set for Monday Oct. 7, 2019, 7-9 p.m. EST to be followed by the French debate on Thursday Oct. 10, 2019, 8-10 p.m. EST
