L.V. Rogers grad Ryan Lewis capped an amazing regular season of Canada West Men’s Soccer by being selected to the Second Team All Star squad Thursday.

The Thompson Rivers WolfPack men’s soccer star, who played youth soccer in Nelson, joins teammates Jan Pirretas Glasmacher (First Team All-Star), Patrick Izett (Second Team All-Star) and Elijah Dos Santos (All-Rookie Team) as players from Kamloops-based squad receiving post-season recognition.

The selections marks the second-most that the ‘Pack have had in a single season.

Lewis, the main goal-scoring punch for TRU this season, scored seven times as the product of Nelson tied for fifth in the conference in goals-scored.

The seven goals that Lewis scored also moves him into a tie for fifth in the single-season program record books.

Unfortunately, the WolfPack dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to  Calgary Dinos Friday in Kamloops in Canada West Men’s Soccer playoff action.

Calgary will now move onto the Canada West Final Four next weekend.

That conference championship tournament will be hosted by the highest remaining Pacific Division after the Quarter-Finals wrap this weekend.

For TRU, their sights now shift to the U SPORTS Men’s Soccer Championship presented RBC.

Despite bowing out of the playoffs with the loss, the WolfPack have an automatic berth to the tournament taking place from November 10-13 inside Hillside Stadium as hosts.
