To The Editor:
Thank you Nelson!
The LV Rogers 50th anniversary reunion for the classes of 67 and 68 was a huge success, and the organizing committee would like to give a big shout out to our wonderful home town. We had over 190 people show up and we built our schedule so they would have lots of time to look around town, try some of our great restaurants and see all the changes that have happened in those many years. All of the grads had a great time and were particularly impressed with the friendly reception they got when people realized why they were here. The “official” events all went off very well, but the highlight was being in this amazing place we all grew up in, surrounded by old friends (in every sense of that word).
We’d like to thank all of our sponsors; Torchlight Brewery, Nelson Brewing Company, Cartolina, Touchstones, Wayne Stetski – MP, Oso Negro, Kootenay Insurance Service, Nelson and District Credit Union, Save on Foods, and 108 Mile Ranch Golf Course (with Alex Sidor Jr). And a special thanks to the Hume Hotel for their sponsorship and for the amazing job they did hosting our two main events, the brunch and the dance (with the great music of Railtown). Thanks Ryan, Shawn and the rest of the team at the Hume, you went above and beyond.
See you in ten years Nelson!
