Leafs bounce back, send series back to Kimberley tied at 2-2

The Kootenay Conference Final is now a best-of-three series.
The Nelson Leafs posted a pair of weekend wins to even the best-of-seven Kootenay International Junior Hockey League playoff series with the Kimberley Dynamiters at 2-2.
Bryden Pow scored twice, and Rhett Hamilton added three assists to spark Nelson to a 4-1 victory Friday at the NDCC Arena.
Hamilton, leads the Leafs in playoff scoring with 16 points in 16 games.
Saturday, it was goalie Dylan Marshall stopping all 24 shots to power the Leafs to a 2-0 win before more than 1,000 cheering fans Saturday.
Bryce Sookro, with the game’s first goal 52 seconds into the game on a long shot from center, and Drake Proctor, scoring his first KIJHL marker in the second, were all the goals Marshall would need as the Saskatoon native won for the second time in two nights.
In two games, Marshall stopped 50 of 51 shots faced.
Sookro leads Nelson defenceman in scoring with 11 points in 12 games.
Friday, Simon Nemethy and Liam Noble also scored for the Leafs.
Austin Daniel, in the third period, scored the lone goal for Kimberley.
The series now shifts to the Bavarian City for Game five of the series Monday.
The teams are back in Nelson for Game six Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the NDCC Arena.
If a seventh game is necessary, it will be played Wednesday in Kimberley.
In the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference Final, Revelstoke won twice on the weekend to oust Osoyoos Coyotes 4-0 in the best-of-seven series.
Revelstoke, which opened the series with a pair of road wins in Osoyoos, won 3-1 Friday and 3-2 to Saturday to complete the sweep of the Coyotes.
Nelson Minor Hockey grad leads Bucks to inaugural victory
Noah Quinn, a graduate of Nelson Minor Hockey, had three points to lead the Cranbrook Bucks to the franchise’s first win over Penticton Vees in BC Hockey League action.
Quinn scored twice and added an assist to lead the Bucks to a 5-2 win Friday.
In 51 games this season, Quinn has 26 goals and 30 assists for Cranbrook.
