Kootenay Lake students awarded UVIC scholarships

Kootenay Lake School District is proud to announce that 13 former students have been awarded scholarships to the University of Victoria.

Ten of the Baker’s Dozen of scholarships were received by graduates of L.V. Rogers in Nelson, while the other three came from Prince Charles Secondary in Creston.

The L.V. Rogers recipients include:

  • Brett Anderson — University of Victoria Entrance Scholarship ($2,000)
  • Indigo Bowick — University of Victoria Entrance Scholarship ($2,000)
  • Gavin Deane — Faculty of Engineering ($2,500)& Dean’s Entrance Scholarship $(6,000) *
  • Griffen Ellison — University of Victoria Entrance Scholarship ($2,000)
  • Harlan Hofmann-Miller —  UVic Excellence Scholarship ($7,000)*
  • Gretchen Lewandowski — Norah and Calvin Banks Science Scholarship ($1,960); University of Victoria Entrance Scholarship ($3,000); & Women in Engineering and Computer Science Entrance Scholarship ($1,500)
  • Jonathon Michalchuk — University of Victoria Entrance Scholarship ($2,000)
  • Sol Shaool — Trussell Undergraduate Scholarship in Science & Technology (Faculty of Science) ($1,375) & UVic Excellence Scholarship ($6,000)*
  • Max Thomson — Trussell Undergraduate Scholarship in Science & Technology (Engineering) ($1,375) & University of Victoria Entrance Scholarship ($3,000)

Prince Charles recipients include:

  • Siobhan Davies — UVic Excellence Scholarship ($6,000)*
  • Finley Peter Valencia — University of Victoria Entrance Scholarship ($3,000)
  • Rebecca Wiens — University of Victoria Entrance Scholarship ($3,000)

*Scholarships marked with an asterix are renewable.
