Kootenay Conference series shifts to Nelson with Nitros holding two game advantage

The Nelson Leafs are hoping home ice is the answer to get back in the Kootenay Conference series against Kimberley Dynamiters when the two teams hook up in Game three of the best-of-seven affair Friday night in the Heritage City.
The Leafs trail the Nitros 2-0 after Kimberley posted Kootenay International Junior Hockey League playoff wins over Nelson, 2-1 Tuesday, and 4-1 Wednesday, in the Bavarian City.
Leaf goalie Tenzin Mint believes the series is not over, despite the Nelson trailing by two games.
“Even if you are up 3-1 in a series, it’s not over until it is over,” Mint recently told KIJHL Director of Communications Emanuel Sequeira.
Nelson, no stranger to being behind in a playoff series this season after rallying from a 3-1 deficit against Castlegar, was in both games in Kimberley before the Nitros struck in the third period to secure the two wins.
Cash Regan of Kimberley scored the winner in Tuesday’s game. The Dynamiter forward added an insurance goal Wednesday to give him four in the playoffs.
Bryden Pow scored both goals for Nelson.
Both games in Nelson at the NDCC Arena, Friday and Saturday, have a puck drop at 7 p.m.
In the other Conference final, Revelstoke leads Osoyoos Coyotes 2-0 after winning twice in the South Okanagan City. The series shifts to Revelstoke for Games three and four, Friday and Saturday at the Forum.
