Too many injuries proved to be the downfall of the L.V. Rogers Bombers at the BC High School AA Girl’s Soccer Championships hosted at Carihi Secondary in Campbell River.

LVR lost 4-2 to Frances Kelsey of Cowichan Valley in consolation round action Saturday to conclude the 16-team tournament winless in five games.

Lenni Lockhurst and Teigan Barnhart scored for the Bombers.

LVR completed the round robin draw with losses to St. Thomas Moore, Ballenas of Courtney and Hugh McRoberts of Richmond, 4-2.

Lockhurst and Addis Atkinson scored for the Bombers against Hugh McRoberts.

LVR then lost a heartbreaker, dropping a 1-0 decision to St. Michael's University of Victoria.

The provincial tournament concludes an outstanding season by the Bombers on the pitch. The Bombers finished fourth at a tournament in Kelowna before breezing through the Kootenay Zone Championships to claim the berth at the AA Provincial Tournament.
