Expect traffic congestion as city crews trim trees on Vernon Street
The City of Nelson is advising the public of traffic congestion this week as crews trim boulevard trees in preparation for the installation of festive lighting.
Beginning today (Monday, October 18, 2021) from 6:30 a.m.to 2:30 p.m., City arborists will be cutting branches on trees located on Vernon Street.
Vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be re-routed away from the job sites.
As well, parking will not be available on designated blocks starting with the 500 block of Vernon Street Monday and finishing with the 800 block on Thursday.
The remaining week work schedule for tree trimming is:
600 Block – Tuesday, October 19
700 Block — Wednesday, October 20
800 Block — Thursday, October 21
The City of Nelson said safety of crews and the public is its number one priority.
