Elections Canada Office now accepting advance ballots at former Kootenay Lake School Board Office

In case you didn’t know it, there’s a Federal Election campaign going on prior to voting on Monday, October 21, 2019.
But Election Day is not the only time voters can cast ballots.
Currently, in the former Kootenay Lake School Board Office, located across the Big Orange Bridge at 570 Johnstone Road (make a left at Main Jet), Elections Canada has opened an office for Nelson and Kootenay Columbia riding voters.
Fully staffed to assist early voters, hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
Anyone unable to vote at Advanced Polls during Thanksgiving weekend of on Election Day can now vote at any of the three local offices — in Nelson, Cranbrook or Golden.
These locations are among the 500 Elections Canada offices throughout the country.
To vote, electors must show proof of identity and address.

Voting and identification rules are different for incarcerated electors and Canadian electors who live abroad.
Electors who are members of the Canadian Armed Forces can now vote at a military polling station established at their unit or base, or use one of the voting options listed above.
