The warmer weather has chased the snow away at Granite Pointe, allowing Golf Operations Manager Reg Clarkson to open all 18 holes for play for the 2023 season.

Golfers can now book tee times beginning at 8 a.m.

Granite Pointe staff said all 18 holes are open along with the driving range and putting green.

This is not the first time in 2023 Granite Pointe has seen golfers at West Richards Street location.

During the winter, golfers have been refining their game by taking advantage of the two simulators in the clubhouse.

The simulators allowed players to play many different courses in BC and North American as well as practise skills in preparation for the upcoming season.

Granite Pointe’s A.J. Cooper culminated the winter season on the simulators by capturing the 2023 Simulator Championship.

Cooper won the title after surviving a sudden death playoff.

Keith Mufford won the Consolation championship with special congratulations to John Moon and Paul Burkhart for carding hole in ones.

Granite Pointe, a par 72, 6,209-yard course, has a rich history dating back to 1919 when a local group of men started the course in the Rosemont district of Nelson.

Granite Pointe remained a nine-hole course until the expansion to 18 holes happened in 1993. The course remains a vital part of Nelson’s vibrant community.

For information about booking times call 250-352-5913 or check out the Granite Pointe website.
