It was a good old fashion bowling split at the 2011 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League All Star Weekend in Fernie.

Team Okanagan outlasted Team Kootenay 6-4 to claim the Prospects Game Friday in the East Kootenay City.

Nelson Leafs Cameron Dobransky carried the Green and White colors for Team Kootenay.

Saturday, Team Kootenay got the better of their Okanagan/Shuswap opponents, hammering Team Okanagan 10-3.

Defencemen Riley Henderson and team captain Taylor O’Neil represented the Leafs.

Goalie Darren Hogg and forward Gavin Currie were selected to play during the weekend, but both failed to make the games due to injury.

All teams in the KIJHL now begin the final stretch drive in preperation for playoffs.

Nelson opens a three-game home stand Friday when Kelowna Chiefs invade the NDCC Arena for a 7 p.m. contest.

Saturday, Nelson plays host to Murdoch rival Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
