Carter Anderson is the latest recipient of the Hume Innkeepers Kerry Dyck Memorial Soccer Scholarship.

Anderson was recently presented with the scholarship by Kevin Lewis of the Hume Innkeepers.

“Carter is a great example of hard work, leadership, commitment and humbleness,” said Lewis speaking about Anderson.

“When our team drafted the criteria for the scholarship, we put an emphasis on supporting those that would take the larger lessons learned in team sports and apply them both on and off the pitch.”
Anderson is a graduate of Nelson Soccer Association and is off to UBCO in Kelowna to study business management.

The Hume Innkeepers play in the Mallard’s Men’s Open Adult League.

Dyck, a graduate of L.V. Rogers High School, was a key cog in Nelson Soccer for many years, coaching and serving on the executive.

He was also coach and manager of the Hume Innkeepers for many years, helping the squad capture the 2017 Mallard’s Men’s Open League last fall.

Dyck was also honoured by BC Soccer, claiming the Awards of Merit.

Dyck was nominated by the BC Soccer Membership as well as the Board of Directors for recognition of contributions to soccer, during a period of ten or more years, as a player, manager, coach, official, or administrator at the club/league or district Level.
