Brother of Terry Fox visits Nelson

The Kootenay Rhythm Dragon (KRD) boat paddlers were recently privileged to meet with the brother of Terry Fox during a visit to Nelson.
Fred met with members of the Rhythm Dragons who organize the annual Nelson Terry Fox Run, to discuss the Nelson event and talk about future plans for the Run as the 40th anniversary of Terry’s incredible Marathon of Hope draws near (2020). Fred also spoke with several paddlers who are cancer survivors and have benefited from the work of the Terry Fox Research Institute.
Fred and his friend Don Hubert participated in a dragonboat practice on Kootenay Lake on a beautiful Sunday morning with breakfast following at Finley’s Bar and Grill, a generous supporter of the Kootenay Rhythm Dragons.
The Nelson Annual Terry Fox Run will be held Sunday, Sept. 16 – registration at 8:30 am., Run Start at 9:30 am. Pre-register at terryfox.org
