The L.V. Rogers Bombers tested their skills against some of the best teams in the province at the Kamloops High School Boys’ Soccer Tournament this last week in Spoolmak Country.

The Bombers finished the two-day event with a 1-1-3 record.

“The team played very well overall, especially considering how many junior players were brought to the senior tournament,” said Bomber coach Caleb Morton.

“The future of this squad is looking solid,” Morton added.

Bombers blasted Surrey Christian 5-0 and tied Vernon’s Kalamalka Lakers 2-2. Goal scorers were Diego Navajo and Keegan Carmichael in the tie against Kalamalka and Max Spielman, Libb Jung and Milo Klein, who posted a hat-trick against Surrey Christian.

LVR lost to Sardis of the Fraser Valley, Valleyview of Kamloops and Aberdeen Hall — the latter a tough 3-2 decision. Navajo scored twice against Aberdeen Hall.

LVR continues play during the fall soccer season with the next tourney October 12-13 in Cranbrook. Zone Championships are set for October 26th.
