Back on the hardwood after a long hiatus due to COVID-19 precautions, the L.V. Roger Bombers rode the 13-point performance of Samuel Orasuk to edge the J. Lloyd Crowe Hawks 48-46 in West Kootenay Boys High School Basketball action Tuesday afternoon in Trail.

The win was the second of the season for the Bombers over the rival from the Silver City. LVR defeated the Hawks at home prior to the Christmas holidays season.

The Hawks appeared poised to break the Bombers as the hosts led by six points with four minutes remaining in the contest.

However, the Bombers were able to overcome the deficit, thanks to outstanding defensive contributions from Mika Whitefield and Quinn Kilpatrick, to edge the Hawks at the buzzer.

Diego Caprara added 10 Points for the Bombers while guard Jake Marshall scored eight points with nine rebounds.

LVR returns to action Thursday with a road game against the Wolves in Grand Forks.

This is the first meeting of the season between the two high school rivals.
