Soft Opening of the Mobile Freedom Stage with an Open Mic Event

There is an open mic event planned to introduce the Kootenays to the Selkirk Mountain Music Society and the mobile Freedom Stage.

On Friday July 23rd from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the The Ruala Café at 1845 Highway 3B, Fruitvale B.C. the event is being planned to celebrate the progress of the Selkirk Mountain Music Society and to share performance art with the Kootenay community.

All performance artists are welcome at this open mic event. Admission is by donation (Suggested donation $10), but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

There will be a beer garden, a silent auction, and more exciting announcements about upcoming society events and activities.

About the Selkirk Mountain Music Society

Kootenay Jack Kenny has been a musician living in the Kootenays for more than 40 years. He wanted to make performance venues more accessible for performing artists and audience members, so he decided to build a mobile stage and the Selkirk Mountain Music Society was born. Our mission is to provide a mobile performance venue that brings the sound of the Canadian Rockies to residents and visitors of the Beaver Valley and beyond, and to use our collective talents to help Kootenay folks in need.

Purpose of the Event

To introduce the Kootenays to the Selkirk Mountain Music Society and our amazing mobile stage, and to raise some funds to finish construction.
