In need of a new pair of shoes and wondering where the old pair show go?

Then look no farther than boxes situation around Nelson looking to gather up old shoes as part of the Shoe Bank Canada April Shoe Drive.

Coordinated by Jackie Nedelec, in conjunction with Rotary Club of Nelson Daybreak, the non-profit group is collecting shoes that will connect footwear to clients at the Community Connect Day.

“We got off to a slow start this year because of operating space issues,” said organizer Sheila Hart of Rotary Club of Nelson Daybreak. “Thankfully the curling club came through and is allowing us to work in the lobby of the curling rink.”

Collection runs throughout April.

Drop off boxes are currently situated at these businesses:

  • Gaia Rising
  • Snowpack
  • Valhalla Pure Outfitters
  • Streetclothes Named Desire
  • Shoes for the Soul
  • Devito’s Shoes
  • Marks in Chalko Mika Mall
