Regional Energy Independence Can we get off the tar sands?

The West Kootenay EcoSociety’s third Conversation Café runs this Friday at 7 p.m. in the Oso Negro Café at 604 Ward Street in Nelson.

The topic of conversation is the what the future for energy use might look like in our community.

Featuring local experts, the discussion will range widely, covering electricity, solar, and fossil fuel and transportation.

The EcoSociety’s discussion Cafés have drawn big audiences to talk about housing and forestry, with more topics to come.

Speakers for round three include Steven Thompson of Omineca Solar, Paul Kelly from Revolution Biodiesel, Robert Macrae, instructor in the environment program at Selkirk College, Alex Love, the Manager of Nelson Hydro, Michael Jessen, author and conservationist and moderator Keith Wiley from Kootenays for a Pipeline Free BC.
