“Much Ado About Nothing” is the next show on Nelson Youth Theatre’s group playbill.

The Vth Annual Bard in the Bush Shakespeare Festival production rehearses from (Tuesday) August 6-24 (Saturday) August.

Most weeks will run Mondays to Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. The average age of its cast will be between eleven and fifteen with some exceptions. Basic auditions will be held around the end of July on an individual basis.

Please contact jeff@forstmedia.ca about this process; there is relative flexibility for most actor schedules, depending on the role. The production will use the classic text and there’s lots of good roles in “Much Ado About Nothing”, as always with the Bard’s works.

Upcoming NYT projects include an Xmas show before the winter holidays for younger actors, plus a tribute to a hit musical in the new year. Both of these plays begin rehearsals this fall; visit forstmedia.ca for more details. NYT director Jeff Forst is also a producer, writer and actor with a degree in English Literature from the University of Victoria and professional training from the Gastown Actors Studio.

An actor-driven vehicle where “the play is the thing”, NYTʼs past hits include “Alice: Adventures in Wonderland”, “Juliet & Romeo”, “Zombie Apocalypse”, “The Tempest”, “The Portal: Beyond the Wall”, “Monster Mash”, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!”, “Robin Hood & Maid Marian”, “As You Like It” and “A Midsummer Nightʼs Dream”.
