Nelson Fire Department kicks off Fire Prevention Week

Want to see Nelson from 85 ft up in the air? 

Want to learn how you could win a year of fire insurance or an iPod Touch? 

Think you know all there is to know about a simple smoke alarm?

Join the Nelson fire fighters at the Fire Prevention Week kickoff, at the corner of Josephine and Baker, Friday, (October 5). 

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be with quizzes, offering advice, and showing the “ins-and-outs” of their trucks and equipment. 

There might even be the opportunity to walk the ladder truck for an amazing view from high above Nelson’s downtown.  

Grown-ups can learn how a working smoke alarm could earn a free pizza. 

Kids can learn how an effective Fire Escape Plan could net them dinner with the fire fighters.
