Mount St. Francis may have been closed, but there remains many people who worked with the Sisters of St. Anne to care for the elderly in Nelson for years.

Which is why a few movers and shakers are coordinating a reunion of sorts (Friday) September 6 from 2-7 p.m. at the Rotary Shelter at Lakeside Park.

“Over the past few years, every time I ran into people I had worked with at Mount St. Francis Hospital, we would say “we should get everyone together so we can catch up on what everyone is up to these days,” said Bette Craig one of the organizers of the reunion.

Craig said the Mount staff were like a family-especially when the Sisters of St. Anne were running it.

“We had fun, the residents had fun .  We worked and played and, yes, even fought, just like a family.  But we were very loyal to MSF and everyone in “the family”  . It was sad to think that we were losing track of each other,” Craig explained.

Which is why everyone involved in the facillity is invited to attend the reunion.

Coffee and punch is provided everyone can bring a plate of munchies (the Mount was renowned for good food for any and all occasions!!!).

There will be no cooking and no formality so everyone can move around and visit.

People are advised to bring a lawn chair as we are hoping for more people than there are seats in the Rotary Shelter at Lakeside Park.

“We have a list of about 270 names but know there are more that we have missed-and we have no contact information on many on our list,” Craig said.

For more information contact Craig at (250) 352-7153 or Anne at (250) 357-2491.
