The Kootenay Local Agricultural Society is pleased to present “Make Hay When the Sun Shines,” a FREE field day with the BCS 853 walking tractor and eco-farmer Cal Lorencz.

Learn how to use a cutter, tedder, and baler to make hay just about anywhere with the beefy BCS walking tractor. Other BCS attachments —r otary plow, tiller, flail mower, and more—will be on display, ready to play, and available to rent from the Kootenay Local Agricultural Society.

The field day will be on Saturday, 20 July, from 9 a.m. to noon at Cal and Stephanie’s farm, 2707 Shoreacres Road — north of Castlegar and south of the Slocan junction. Cal will be happy to help with the tools into the afternoon if participants want extra time.

To sign up for the event, phone 250-521-2500 or email klasociety@shaw.ca. Bring boots, lunch, and good ol’ haymaking spirit!
