Kootenay Blues Society hosts first AGM

The Kootenay Blues Society (KBS) will celebrate the first year as a society by holding their first Annual General Meeting on Saturday March 23rd at 4pm.  All current, new and renewing KBS members are invited and encouraged to attend the AGM, which will be followed by a blues jam on the stage at Finley’s Bar & Grill. 

The KBS Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be from 4-5 p.m. on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 at Sage Tapas & Wine Bar (705 Vernon St, Nelson, BC).

The agenda includes:

  • Review of 2018 Shows and Financial Statements
  • Official Announcement of 2019 KBS Shows
  • Presentation of 2019 Budget and motion to approve
  • Board Elections
  • Complementary snacks

New or lapsed members who wish to attend the AGM are advised to renew or join the society, or arrive at Sage Tapas & Wine Bar between 3-3:30 p.m. on the day of the AGM to renew their membership or join the society ($10 annual fee). 

Following the AGM the KBS will celebrate by hosting a Blues Jam at Finley’s Bar & Grill starting at 6 p.m.  The host band, which features Sam Hurrie (guitar and vocals), Phil Wilson-Birks (bass) and Jerry Hamilton (drums), will start things off with a short set.  A drum kit, bass amp and a guitar amp will be available, and musicians of all levels are encouraged to come down with their instruments and join in the fun and play some blues.  Bring your voice, guitar, bass, harp, sax, or any other instrument.  There is no cover charge and all music lovers are welcome.
